Why we care

Loneliness Factor

- Research confirms that most new international students feel extremely lonely and disconnected
- This impacts dramatically on health, mental health, social integration, resilience and academic success
- Health-wise, loneliness equates to 15 cigarettes a day, causing sleep disorders, depression, heart disease and mortality (Australian Coalition to End Loneliness)

Our 2019 research found that:
- 94% of Melbourne's International Students report frequent loneliness or depression
- 96% do not exercise
- 62% said that the issue can last beyond their first-year
- 96% will never complain to parents, teachers or homestay hosts (for strong reasons)

Since Covid-19 hit, students' loneliness problems have intensified dramatically.

We're driving student-led, human-centred solutions.
Our early interventions help kick-start students' own journeys towards inspiration, connection and success.
